Biography of Dr Rajendra Prasad:

 Let us know about the great spirit of India,who gave their full contribution from the independence of India till the constitution of India,and who became the first President of independent India. He was an Indian political leader, lawyer,Indian independent activist and writer.

I am going to talk about Dr rajendra prasad, who was born on 3 Dec 1884 in a Hindu family in zeradai Bihar. Dr Rajendra Prasad's father's name was Mahadev Sahai Srivastava and mother's name was Kamleshwari Devi. Rajendra Prasad's father was a scholar of Sanskrit and Persian. Rajendra Prasad had one elder brother and two sisters.  His mother died in his childhood, and Rajendra Prasad was upbringed by his elder sister. When he was five years old, his father sent him to a skilled Muslim scholar to teach him Persian and Arithmetic. After primary education,his father sent him to a school in Chapra district for further studies. On June 1896, at the age of 12, Rajendra Prasad was married to Rajvanshi Devi. After that Rajendra Prasad moved to Patna with his elder brother and started studying in T.K Ghosh Academy. After that Rajendra Prasad took the entrance exam for Calcutta University at the age of 18 and he came first and started getting Rs30 scholarship of the month. In 1902, he completed his graduation from Presidency College, Calcutta, then did his Masters in Economics from Calcutta University, and worked as Professor of English at Langat Singh College, Muzaffarpur (Bihar), later he became the principal of the college. However, he had to leave college to study law, and took admission in Ripon college calcutta (presently Surendranath law college) . In 1909, Dr Rajendra Prasad worked as a professor of Economics in calcutta city collegeRajendra Prasad received the Gold Medal in Masters in Law in 1915, and later Rajendra Prasad received his doctorate in law in 1937, and began practicing in the High Courts of Bihar and Odisha in 1916. In 1917 he appointed as one of the first member of the senate and syndicate of the Patna University.

Rajendra Prasad joined the Indian National Congress for the first time in 1906 during the annual session held in Calcutta.

He meted with Mahatma Gandhi during Lucknow session of Indian National Congress held in 1916.

During the Champaran mission, Mahatma Gandhi asked him to come with his volunteers.  He was very impressed by Mahatma Gandhi's dedication, courage and conviction, and after the non-cooperation movement in 1920, Rajendra Prasad left his lawyer's job as well. Rajendra Prasad was arrested in 1930 for participating in the Namak Satyagrah movement. After that Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected president for the Bombay sessionDr Rajendra Prasad has also served as the president of the congress. In 1942  the Congress passed the Quit India movement, during movement Dr. Rajendra Prasad was arrested. After that in July 1946, Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the President of the Constitution. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Dr Rajendra Prasad played an important role in the making of the Constitution of India. It was recognized by Dr Rajendra Prasad by signing the constitution, and after two and a half years of independence, on 26 January 1950, the Constitution of independent India was implemented, in which Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first President of India. He was re-elected as president for two consecutive times in 1952 and 1957. After a tenure of twelve years, Dr Rajendra Prasad retired in the year 1962 and went to Patna, where he started living his life by doing public service in Bihar vidhyapeeth. He was awarded in 1962 by Bharat Ratna. He died on 28 Feb 1963.
